Since the age of 7 I have been diagnosed with alopecia areata, or alopecia. It is an autoimmune disease that causes loss of hair and body hair depending on the stage at which it is reached. In seventh grade I lost all of my hair and body hair. Today I have had this disease for 5 years and I have been on social media for 1 year to talk about the disease path, how I experienced it before and how I live with it today. In junior high it was a bit complicated because I’ve been harassed at school and I decided when in high school to start my social media so I could try to democratize the disease.
