I want to photograph more men. To see them, to hear them, to give them a space where they can simply be—without the pressure to fit into a mould.
Over the past year, through so many encounters, I’ve realised how urgent it is to talk, to be seen for who we truly are, to embrace vulnerability. And for men, this urgency feels even more buried, more silent. They are rarely given space to exist beyond strength or control. Yet the pressure is real—the expectation to fit a certain frame, to be powerful but not too much, attractive but never fragile.
I’ve always found it easier to photograph men. No one questions the way they pose, no one tries to reshape their body into something more pleasing. But the weight of expectation is still there—just as heavy, yet far less discussed. And honestly, I can’t help but wonder: why do so many male photographers who claim inclusivity only ever photograph naked women, instead of helping men break free from their own insecurities?
Now, I want to go further. I want to capture the essence of people—all people. But most of all in this project, I want to give more space to men who feel the need to be seen differently, with honesty, without ticking a box.
BOYS UNPLUGGED is a project where music has a place. Music is a bridge. It connects, it frees, it speaks when words feel too big or too unfamiliar. Through music, through presence, I want to create honest portraits.
